The Secret Ingredient To A Thriving Online Business

Building an online business is not just about having a revolutionary idea or mastering SEO. It's about preparing for the inevitable ups and downs, the wins and the losses, the breakthroughs and the plateaus.

Every online entrepreneur will face setbacks. Some may experience algorithm changes that dramatically reduce their visibility, while others may grapple with negative reviews or technical issues.

I’ve faced many challenges on my journey and I still continue too. It took me a staggering 18 months to get monetized on YouTube. My initial 5 months on Amazon KDP saw me barely making $100.

During those tough times, it's easy to get sidetracked by others' apparent successes. Scrolling through social media, you might think everyone else is thriving. But remember, comparing your chapter one to someone's chapter twenty is a recipe for despair.

Yet, what truly sets successful entrepreneurs apart is not their initial success but their response to failures.

Your perspective can make all the difference. When you treat failures as lessons, they become valuable experiences that shape and refine your journey.

During those 18 months creating videos for YouTube, every video I made was an improvement on the last, I studied the stats, responded to comments from subscribers, I improved the quality of my videos and kept taking consistent action.

However, the journey doesn't end once you taste success. In fact, it presents a different set of challenges.

The euphoria of hitting a milestone can sometimes lead to complacency. The real question then becomes: can you maintain that success? Will you continue to innovate, adapt, and grow, or will you rest on your laurels?

In summary, trying to build a business online comes with its unique set of challenges however mental resilience is your strongest ally. It equips you to handle criticism with grace, to view competition as motivation, and to see failures as feedback.

More than your business acumen, it's your ability to bounce back from setbacks, to keep going even when the going gets tough, that will determine your success not only in online business but in life too.
