Would You Rather Book: A Step-by-Step Guide
What Is A Would You Rather Book?
A "Would You Rather" book is a collection of imaginative and thought-provoking questions that ask readers to choose between two scenarios.
These books are popular on Amazon as they cater to a wide audience range, making for an engaging and interactive reading experience.
Step 1: Research and Target Your Audience
Successful Would You Rather books on Amazon cater to specific audiences or events. Here's how to start your research:
Amazon Search Bar: Utilize this to understand what customers are searching for. Look for trends or niches that aren't overly saturated.
Explore Bestsellers: Use the 'Look Inside' feature on Amazon to study the content of best-selling books. Pay attention to how questions are framed and any unique features they offer.
Customer Reviews: These can provide insights into what readers enjoy and what they feel is missing, helping you tailor your book to their preferences.
This Would You Rather Book was only created in October but it already has a BSR of 1317 which proves that new books can still get huge sales in this niche.
Step 2: Creating Your Book
Creating a standout Would You Rather book involves originality and creativity. Here’s how you can approach it:
Developing Content:
DIY Approach: If you're creative, consider writing your own unique questions.
AI Assistance: AI tools like ChatGPT can help generate questions, but ensure to disclose the use of AI in your book.
Hiring Freelancers: Platforms like Fiverr offer writers who can craft custom content, though this may incur additional costs.
Designing Your Book:
Cover Design: Your cover should be visually appealing and relevant to your target audience. Canva is a great tool for finding templates and design elements.
Interior Layout: Keep the layout clean and reader-friendly. Canva and AI design tools can assist in creating an attractive interior design.
Step 3: Uploading to Amazon KDP
After completing your book:
Format it according to KDP’s guidelines.
Upload it to Amazon KDP, filling in all the necessary details like book description, pricing, etc.
If you’ve used AI tools, remember to disclose this in your book’s description.
Step 4: Ads
The next crucial step is to attract readers. This is where targeted advertising comes into play. Running ads can significantly increase your book's visibility and drive traffic to your page.
You can start off running automatic ads or if you are more advanced you can run manual campaigns but these should be as targeted as possible.
You don't need a massive budget to see results. Start small, monitor how your ads perform, and adjust your spending accordingly.
Keep a close eye on your ad performance. Use the data provided to tweak your campaigns for better results.
Final Thoughts
Creating a "Would You Rather" book for Amazon is a fantastic way to tap into a high-demand market. Focus on unique content, appealing design, understanding your target audience and running targeted ads to help your book stand out from the crowd.
- Don’t chase trends or seasonal niches.
- Create evergreen KDP books that will continue to make money in 3–5 years time.
