A Deep Dive Into My Passive Income Streams

This week I wanted to provide you will a behind-the-scenes look at some of my passive income streams. It’s very important to diversify your income streams online as you don’t have control of many platforms.

I will provide a breakdown of each income stream showing how I made $5711.73 in June.

Amazon KDP — $3669.92

June was my second largest month so far this year. It was a slight decrease from May when I made $3990.64.

My top 3 best-selling books of the month include an activity book, a log book and a quiz book.

My expenses for Amazon KDP include ads which came to $834.68 and subscriptions for different software came to $106. You can read an in-depth report for the month below.

Youtube — $855.08

I uploaded 9 videos during the month and then I took a break towards the end. My income was down 18% from the previous month, you can’t control the youtube algorithm so I just focus on creating the best content I can.

I had 105,100 views over the month, with over 5500 watch hours and gained 2000 subscribers during the month of June.

Digital Product — $777.59

I launched my first digital product, an ebook on the 11th of June across my social media platforms and newsletter.

I’ve never done something like this before so I was excited when numerous subscribers downloaded my ebook, The AI Advantage.

It took much time and effort to create it but it’s been a great experience and I’ve had some awesome feedback too.

Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something different. You either win or learn.

Affiliate Marketing — $260

This income stream has increased again from the previous month. I am focusing on affiliate income streams that provide a monthly subscription plan so that I get paid consistently every month.

Medium — $149.14

This is my fourth-month writing of the medium partner program and I have already earned 3X the previous month.

I wrote 13 articles during May which is in line with the 12–20 articles that I am trying to maintain each month.

I made a total of $5711.73 from these 5 passive income streams. They are not all my passive income streams but they have all taken time to build and I have added them strategically at different times.

I personally don’t want to rely on one income stream and I hope this encourages you to test out other online platforms and diversify.

Making $11.9K Monthly Profits With KDP

Empire Flippers is an online business brokerage that facilitates the buying and selling of online businesses. They have become popular due to its transparency, vetting process, and comprehensive services, which include everything from the initial valuation of an online business to the final stages of transferring ownership.

I recently listened to an interview on the Empire Flippers youtube channel about a self-publisher, named Chase, selling his account and built a six-figure KDP business making $11.9k monthly profits. (The interview was in 2021.)

His business, which was created in July 2018, found success quite early on, leading Chase to other business ventures while allowing him to quit his full-time job. Chase chose to focus his KDP business on evergreen niches like pet care, finance, and food and beverages, which offer consistent demand and sales.

One of the keys to his success was using Amazon ads. He began implementing them a year into the business, which contributed significantly to his revenue growth. These ads, when optimized correctly, can lead to a substantial increase in sales.

Despite his success, Chase points out that not all of his efforts have been fruitful. He published more than 80 books, but according to the 80-20 rule, the top 20% of his books generate the majority of his income. His advice to future KDP business owners is to focus on top-performing niches and build on those.

With Chase's business model, the primary source of traffic is Amazon, with about 10% coming from Ingram Spark. He also uses software to find effective keywords, a strategy he’s willing to share with the buyer of his business.

As for maintaining the business, Chase says it requires minimal effort, estimating between five to ten hours per week if in "growth mode." The tasks include managing ghostwriters and cover designers, and keeping ads and keywords up-to-date.

Chase is selling his KDP business because he wants to focus on his other businesses and is looking to buy a house. Despite his lack of involvement over the past year, his KDP business has continued to generate a substantial income, proving its potential as a passive income source.

In the end, Chase believes his business is worth buying because it's been consistent, and there's a significant opportunity for growth. For someone looking to enter the KDP world or expand their portfolio, his business provides a solid foundation to build on and take to the next level.

This week we will take a look at quote coloring books. These types of books sell really well on Amazon but you need to niche down and find your target audience.

Quote coloring books can provide a range of benefits:

Newcomers will often think that niche is very saturated and difficult to get into but there are so many niches that you can delve into.
