One Book On Amazon Can Change Your Life...

This week I was looking back on some of my successful books with KDP that I created this year and how far my business has come.

During 2020-2022, I published 1000+ books with moderate success.

This year, I changed my strategy, producing fewer books and with just ONE high-quality book alone earned almost as much as all those books combined in 2022!

KDP Niche Of The Week - Life Skills Book

Understanding Life Skills Books

Life skills books are valuable resources that teach essential skills for personal development, daily living, and social interactions.

They are popular on Amazon due to the growing interest in self-improvement and practical education.

These books cater to readers seeking to enhance their life management skills, making them in demand throughout the year.

This life skills book on the far left was created by an independent publisher earlier this year.

It already has a low BSR of 11971 and 41 reviews.

Using TCK Publishing BSR calculator it shows this book is currently selling 322 times a month.

Amazon’s royalty calculator shows this book is earning $6.02 royalty for each sale.

322 book sales a month x $6.02 royalty means this book is earning $1938.44 a month from one book alone in the US market!!!

Imagine the potential of creating several books in this niche.

This highlights the potential of a life skills book however it doesn’t mean you can create a similar book and thousands a month right away!

There are important steps you need to think about and I have broken these down for you below:

Step 1: Research and Finding Your Niche

1. Use Amazon’s search bar to find keywords related to life skills. Aim for keywords with under 2000 results to ensure less competition.

   

2. Market Demand: Look for books with low Best Sellers Rank (BSR) under 200,000, indicating good sales.

3. Analyze Competitors: Utilize Amazon's 'Look Inside' feature to examine content in similar books. Read book descriptions and customer reviews for insights.

Step 2: Creating Your Life Skills Book

1. Content Development: Gather information and life skills that are valuable and relevant. Consider including skills you've learned and wish to pass on.

2. AI and Freelancer Assistance: Use AI tools for research and image creation, or hire freelancers on platforms like Fiverr or Upwork for content development.

3. Design: Create an attractive cover and engaging interior. Ensure the design is appealing and suitable for your target audience.

4. Investment in Quality: As life skills books can command a higher price, invest time in creating high-quality content and design.

Step 3: Publishing on Amazon KDP

1. Final Checks: Before uploading, ensure there are no errors in your book. Proofread and format it according to KDP guidelines.

2. Disclosure: If you've used AI-generated content, disclose this information.

3. Uploading Process: Upload your book carefully to Amazon KDP, filling out all necessary details accurately.

Step 4: Marketing Your Book

1. Amazon Ads: Set up ad campaigns targeting your specific audience. Use automatic ads for broader reach and manual ads for targeting specific keywords or competing books.

2. Marketing Strategy: Ensure your ads are well-crafted to attract potential readers. Monitor ad performance and adjust your strategy for optimal results.

Final Thoughts

Creating a life skills book is not only a potential source of significant income but also a way to impart valuable knowledge and skills.

Don’t rush to create a life skills workbook but follow all the steps mentioned above to ensure your book can have success.
