Would You Sell Your KDP Account?

Whether you've created a successful portfolio of books that generate consistent passive income or you simply no longer want to maintain your KDP account. You may eventually reach a point where you wish to sell your KDP account.

Selling your business can provide an avenue for capitalizing on your past efforts. One of the reputable marketplaces for doing so is Empire Flippers.

Empire Flippers is a reputable online business broker that has facilitated several online business sales, including KDP accounts, websites, e-commerce stores, SaaS businesses, and more. Empire Flippers is known for its transparency, security, and excellent customer service, offering a smooth experience for both buyers and sellers.

  2. Vetting: Once your listing is submitted, Empire Flippers will vet your account to ensure everything is in order. This process includes checking financial data, operational details, and all other information provided during listing. This rigorous vetting process enhances trust and transparency for potential buyers.

  3. Marketing and Negotiations: After passing the vetting process, your KDP account will be listed for sale on the Empire Flippers marketplace. The marketing team will promote your listing to potential buyers. Buyers may ask further questions or request more details. 4. Sale and Migration: Once a buyer is found and the sale is agreed upon, Empire Flippers handles the transition process. They ensure that the buyer gets all the necessary access and the seller receives payment securely.

  5. After-Sale Support: Empire Flippers provides after-sale support to ensure a smooth transition for both parties. They help resolve any issues and provide guidance as needed.

Interview With Royalty Wizard

This week, we have a special interview with Amin, better known by his YouTube channel name Royalty Wizard. Amin is a prolific self-publisher that has turned his Amazon KDP venture into a six-figure income stream. He embarked on his publishing journey after a challenging period, exploring the world of low-content publishing with unwavering persistence.

In this interview, we'll delve into Amin's journey, his strategies, time-management techniques, and his invaluable advice for new authors.

1. Can you share how you started your journey as a self-published author on Amazon KDP? How were your first few months?

I got started with KDP after being laid off from a full-time job. Prior to the job, I had tried eBay drop-shipping and Amazon FBA, but had no success and lost quite a bit of money. I've always had a part-time job (and I still do now), but at the time, the purpose of getting the full-time job was to save up enough money to try FBA again. However, when I was laid off, which was only a couple of weeks into the job, that plan went out the window.

A couple of days later, while browsing through YouTube, I stumbled across videos from Paddy (StackinProfit) about low-content publishing. It got me interested as I already had some design skills. So, I bought his course and started publishing books.

The first few months were a struggle. I was publishing 5-10 books a day (mainly notebooks), but wasn't seeing much results. I believe it took me around 60-70 books before I made my first sale. Those initial few months were tough, and on several occasions, I almost gave up. I'd say reading business-related books and understanding that failure is a part of success kept me going.

2. You have been able to make over six figures with Amazon KDP, can you continue to explain your journey and what factors contributed most significantly to your success?

I believe that being consistent with publishing books is a major factor that contributed to my success. Other factors include:

1. Having a KDP work schedule in place and being consistent with it.

2. Embracing failure and understanding that it's part of the process toward success.

3. Always trying to improve in cover/interior designs, keyword research, descriptions, etc.

3. How are you able to manage your time alongside, work, family and other commitments?

I have a six-day KDP schedule in place and stick to it no matter what. My commitments include my family and a part-time job. Of course, things often come up and I end up missing time I allocate toward publishing books, but I do my best to remain consistent.

4. How do you decide what book you will create next?

My success came from publishing logbooks and journals. These are the types of books I publish the most. I believe it's important for publishers to create books that work for them and to give most of their attention toward creating them. That being said, I plan to explore other types of books soon.

5. Which part of the process do you feel most self-publishers ignore but they should pay more attention to? Research, Design, Uploading or Marketing?

I believe all of the above are crucial to the success of books, and one aspect people often neglect is creating high quality interior and cover designs. I'd say nailing these two things is extremely important, especially with today's high competition. And I think it's also important to maintain a mindset of continuous improvement in cover and interior designs. Personally, even after doing KDP for over four years, I'm still striving to improve my designs.

6. What challenges have you faced during your self-publishing journey and how have you overcome them?

I've faced many challenges, but a significant one was a big drop in sales at the start of Covid. Shipping times were long and many of my books stopped being displayed in their original positions in rankings. I overcame this by spending more on ads to get my books to get sales and maintain their rank. And also by publishing further books. At the time, there was a lot of hype around publishing colouring and activity books, but I stuck to what I was good at and what was working for me. Which was log books and journals. I'm glad that that’s what I did and my sales recovered after a few months.

7. What advice would you give to someone starting self-publishing in 2023, do you feel KDP is saturated?

I don't think it's saturated, however, I do think KDP has become more competitive and difficult, and there are higher-quality books to compete against. Mindset, in my opinion, is something that's crucial. If someone comes in expecting quick success, they'll likely end up disappointed. However, if they are willing to put in the time and effort and have patience, it increases their chances of success.

8. Do you have any other successful side hustles that you can recommend?

I have a YouTube channel that generates a small amount of income for me. Anyone publishing low-content books can start a YouTube channel and document/teach what they know. Not only will it help build another stream of income, but it will also help in increasing their knowledge and experience of KDP. There's a quote that says, "to teach is to learn twice".

9. What are your future plans and goals for your publishing career on Amazon KDP?

My plan is to continue publishing books, keep improving and possibly branch out towards other types of books. Although I believe it's important to do what works for you, I think it's also important to try out different things.

I also plan to explore AI further. It's something I've neglected and brushed under the carpet at first, but I believe it's important and as time goes by it will play a big part in low-content publishing.

I appreciate Amin taking time out of his busy schedule. Niche Of The Week: Composition Notebooks

For those contemplating creating composition notebooks and if they still sell. There's arguably no better time than to create these than Q3.

Q3's potential largely comes from its alignment with the back-to-school season, leading to an increased demand for stationery items like composition notebooks. Students and educators alike look for new, appealing options, driving a major sales surge in this period. The demand isn't limited to the educational sector either; artists, writers, and professionals often refresh their supplies during this time, broadening the market potential.

Despite the high demand, making your composition notebooks stand out among the sea of similar products is crucial. This is where 'Niching Down' plays a key role. By targeting a specific audience, you tailor your products to meet unique needs, helping your notebooks stand out.

Beyond niching down, creating unique content is a significant sales driver. Generic, mass-produced notebooks are common, but notebooks with original designs, inspirational quotes, customized interiors, or intriguing prompts are far more likely to catch a customer's eye.

Below are some recent examples of sellers that have created composition notebooks and have made sales in this competitive niche.

With AI tools unique composition notebooks can be made fast and easy, I created this video to walk you through the process step by step.
